History
The Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University was officially established on October 1, 1965 with the Decree of the Minister of PTIP No. 248/Sek/P.U/1965, dated October 20, 1965, which consisted of two study programs, namely the Architecture Program and the Fine Arts Program. As the background for the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, it is in the context of preserving, developing Balinese culture in particular and national culture in general, especially in dealing with tourism development and development.
In 1965, a committee called the Preparatory Committee for the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University was formed with the following structure:
- Chairman: Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra (Rector of Udayana University)
- Secretary: Drs. Soedarminto (Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University)
- Members: Ir. I Gusti Ngurah Jelantik; dr. R. Moerdowo (Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University)
This committee succeeded in establishing the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University with two study programs, namely the Architecture Program and the Fine Arts Program. As the first leader: Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra as the official dean and Drs. Soedarminto as secretary of the dean. Thus, in 1965 the Faculty of Engineering was the fifth faculty within Udayana University, and it officially became the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University with the Decree of the Minister of PTIP Number 248 of 1965 as of October 1, 1965.
