There are three branches of competition in FILM 2023, there are essay, scientific writing competition (LKTI), and poster. In this competition, representatives of the Architecture program, Ayu Gita and Agus Mardika, participated in the essay branch.

This activity consists of several stages, including online submission and selection of works, and final presentation and announcement of winners held offline. The competition of Ayu Gita and Agus Mardika started on January 31, 2023, with team registration and submission of manuscripts, followed by a technical meeting, which continued until the selection stage. On February 22, 2023, the top 15 finalists were announced, and the second technical meeting, final presentation, EXPO works, and announcement of winners were held offline at the Sebelas Maret University. The final presentation of this competition was held on March 17, 2023.

Ayu Gita and Agus Mardika faced tough competition from nearly 400 teams from various universities across Indonesia. Initially, they felt pessimistic about winning this competition due to the large number of registered participants, but with hard work, effort, and prayer, they proved that they could win the third place and bring pride to the Architecture program of the Udayana University at the national level.

Ayu Gita and Agus Mardika won the competition by presenting an essay entitled "FLORAKU," which stands for "Environmentally Friendly Floating Garden." Their essay discussed solutions for addressing plastic waste and providing green open spaces. They proposed the idea of a floating garden above the water made of recycled plastic waste as the main material.
